*sigh* I'm trying to come up with a topic for my Honours project and am failing miserably! I have a week and a half ish to have my topic sorted and I keep crashing in to bloody tritanium walls! I thought of exploring the Harajuku fashions and culture, like the reason they dress like that and really get into the social and grouping issues. Then my product could be a mashup of a harajuku and a western style, like lolita-steampunk.
Well, that plan is scuppered, as I've found this AMAZING paper by a sociologist called Chris Perry, who did HIS dissertation on the subversion, subculture, and style of Harajuku. And it was brilliant, totally amazing! His research is amazing and his conclusions are great. It's totally comprehensive...which leaves me out in the cold, as I can't think of a new way to look at it!
I still want to do lolita-steampunk, but now I have to think up a new idea for my question! ARRRRRGHHHHHH! *tears hair out*
Oh god, this year is going to be hard! Why, oh why didn't I choose something easier, or graduate with my degree in the summer?
Unless......
Ooooh! I have just this min thought of another idea! How about a look into "futuristic costumes" and how they were portrayed in films, say, from the 60s to the present day, coming up with my own version at the end! I COULD RESEARCH STAR TREK! (also others, but I am too excited about star trek!) Hmm, does that sound good, or is this icon appropriate:
If anyone has any ideas on any of this, feel free to chip in at any time!
